Nokia C1, C2 dual SIM phones for India

Two months ago, Nokia announced their first ever dual-SIM phones, the C1 and C2.  Today, it has launched these two phones the Nokia C1 and C2 in India. Even though the dual-SIM concept is not new, Nokia is firmly setting its target in the developing world and launches these two budget dual-SIM phones.

 

The main obvious feature is the dual-SIM support but the difference between the C1 and C2 lies in the number of SIM-card that can be activated  at a time. While the C1 supports dual-SIM with only one SIM active at a time whereas the C2 supporting dual-SIM can  have both the SIM active at a time.

The Nokia C1 has a battery standby  time of 6 weeks and talk time of 13 hours. It has 500 phonebook entries, a flashlight, FM radio and a 3.5mm headphones jack. The screen size is 1.8-inch and it is a TFT screen with 128 x160 pixels. The phone runs on Series 30 interface and the body weighs just 73g. The phone is availablein blue, red, light grey and green and will cost Rs. 1,999.

For the Nokia C2, with both SIM cards active unlike the case of C1, one SIM card sits underneath the battery while the second SIM is hot-swappable. The Nokia C2 has the same 1.8-inch TFT screen as the C1 but it has more apps and features. It uses Series 40  interface and has a VGA camera and Stereo FM with recording option. It also has MP3/WAV/AAC playback support, Bluetooth v2.0 and GPRS connectivity. MicroSD card is supported.  The C2 will be loaded with Nokia's online services like Ovi Life Tools and Ovi Mail to take advantage of its GPRS connectivity support.
