HTC Desire C and V

After recently launching the photography-oriented One family of smartphones, HTC has introduced not one, but two new additions to the Desire family.

Called the Desire C and V, the new handsets run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) OS and come with Beats Audio technology. Both devices come with only 4GB of internal storage, but this is expandable via a microSD card. In addition, HTC is bundling 25GB of free Dropbox space for two years.

The Desire V is a dual-SIM phone--a first for HTC--powered by a 1GHz single-core processor. The 5-megapixel autofocus camera doesn't do HD video recording, but maxes out at WVGA. This also happens to be the 4-inch screen's resolution--800 x 480 pixels. According to HTC, the handset has already been available in China, though we understand that it is a model running on China-specific bandwidths.

The Desire C is a lower-end model with a 3.5-inch HVGA (320 x 480 pixels) screen and comes packing a 600MHz single-core processor. Its 5-megapixel camera captures video at an even lower resolution than the Desire C--320 x 480 pixels (VGA).
Based on their specs, the new Desire lineup seems to be targeted at the entry-level to midrange markets. Available in either black or white, the Desire V is priced at S$498 (US$390). The Desire C is priced at S$338 (US$263) without operator subsidies and comes in red, white or black. source-asia.cnet.com
