HTC launches Sensation XL in the India

HTC India has launched its second Beats Audio Android phone Sensation XL in country today. Company has priced it at a hefty INR 38,799 (best buy price, MRP is INR 39,990), making it the most expensive Android phone pricing till date in India. Sensation XL will be available in stores country-wide soon.

HTC Sensation XL features a 1.5GHz processor, a whopping 4.7 inch display with 800X480p resolution, and Android 2.3. While Sensation XL specifications seem great, display resolution and RAM are slight disappointments. 1GB RAM has become the standard for quite some time for high-end Android devices, but Sensation XL is struck with 768MB, and in terms of display resolution 720p displays are in, HTC could have at-least put a qHD screen. You can check out the full specs list below.

"With Beats Audio, the HTC Sensation XL continues HTC's commitment of delivering the best audio possible on your phone whether you're listening to music, watching a movie or playing a game. This is an amazing example of why our partnership with Beats makes so much sense for customers today and into the future."

- Faisal Siddiqui, Country Head, HTC India

Thanks to the poor rupee value for last some days, companies have started pricing their devices higher than usual and Sensation XL is just an example, if we don't see a correction in rupee value soon upcoming launches will disappoint us because of hefty price tags.

HTC Sensation XL Features:

  • Qualcomm MSM 8255 1.5GHz processor
  • 768MB RAM
  • Android 2.3 with HTC Sense
  • 16GB Internal storage
  • 8MP rear camera with dual LED flash
  • 1.3MP front camera
  • 1600 mAh battery
  • DLNA, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS

Motorola XT615 running Google Android v2.3 Gingerbread to come in India by Jan 12

Motorola XT615 running Google Android v2.3 Gingerbread to come in India by Jan 12  at a price tag of  Rs.17,500.

Sporting a thin 9.8mm frame, the device is equipped with an 800MHz processor and an 8-megapixel camera, running Google Android v2.3 Gingerbread

Motorola has only just launched the XT615 mid-range Android handset in China, but it seems like Indians looking to get their hands on it won't have to wait for long, according to a report by The Mobile Indian. The website is reporting that the new phone will be launching in the country by January 2012, probably with a price tag of Rs. 17,500.

Powered by an 800MHz processor, the Motorola XT615 runs on Google Android v2.3 Gingerbread, enhanced by the custom Moto Switch UI. The device seeks to bring a slim form factor to the mid-range segment, as it boasts of a thin 9.8mm frame. Quite impressive when you consider it rocks a 4-inch screen, 8-megapixel camera with LED flash and a lanyard hole to attach your keychains or charms to add a personal flavour.

We would be a little surprised if the handset did come at the Rs. 17,500 price suggested by the Mobile Indian, since the official price of the device in Taiwan is NTD$ 10,900 (Rs. 18,800 approx). Rarely do handsets launch at a cheaper price in India than in Taiwan, but as the blog suggests, if the XT615 is priced higher than this, it will most definitely not find any buyers given the number of other handsets available a cheaper price, like the Samsung Galaxy SL and Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo V. We hope TMI is right on this one.
